We are within driving distance of all kinds of entertainment whether you want a family day out to Monkey World, or a trip to a beautiful country house.
Hambledon Hill, rising just behind Chisel Barn, has recently been acquired by the National Trust. The enormous iron age fort, with views over Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire, was bought for £450, 000 in an effort to protect its Iron Age earthwork and rare plant species.
Nearby towns include Shaftesbury, the famous hilltop town featured in the novels of Thomas Hardy, and the beautiful Georgian town of Blandford. A little further away are Wimborne, Sherborne and Salisbury.
Previous guests have enjoyed visits to National Trust estates such as Kingston Lacey, Wilton House and Corfe Castle. Just 25 minutes away are the beautiful lake and garden at Stourhead.
For a more family oriented day out, you could try Farmer Palmer’s Farm Park, Monkey World or Bovington Tank Museum.
‘Our young girls enjoyed saying hello to the horses each morning and long walks through the fields with the lambs. During our stay we had many very nice days out, including Snape Railway, Farmer Palmers and Monkey World, all well worth a visit for a family.’
